KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Sarawak Cable, Ni Hsin Resoures, Bumi Armada, Genting Malaysia and Yong Tai to be among the companies which could see trading interest on Friday after their corporate announcements.
It said Sarawak Cable clinched an RM257.02mil power contract for a Petronas project in Pengerang, Johor.
As for Ni Hsin Resources, it had signed an MoU with Helios Photovoltaic Sdn Bhd (HPSB) to venture into the photovoltaic systems market.
Bumi Armada announced to Bursa Malaysia that its FPSO contract execution has been delayed again until Dec 10.
Genting Malaysia expects to complete the Twentieth Century Fox World theme park by 2016.
JF Apex Research said Yong Tai has proposed to carry out a mixed development project in Malacca under a JV, par value reduction, and rights issue with free warrants.
Overnight on Wall Street, US stocks fell with benchmarks not far from record highs, as investors considered reports that the European Central Bank (ECB) would consider a broad-based package of quantitative easing in January and awaited the monthly jobs report.
European markets closed lower after ECB)President Mario Draghi's regular press conference revealed that any further monetary easing measures would not be instituted until next year.
At Bursa Malaysia, the FBM KLCI extended its slump after losing 12.46 points to close at 1,745.69 on Thursdday.
