PRIVA (0123) - Privasia gets UMA query from Bursa over rise in share price, volume
PETALING JAYA: Privasia Technology Bhd has received an unusual market activity (UMA) query from Bursa Malaysia for the recent rise in the price and volume of its shares.
The Ace Market-listed company, which is involved in process outsourcing subindustry of the information technology sector, saw its shares rising to an eight-year high of 28.5 sen at the close yesterday on a volume of 84.4 million shares.
Year-to-date its shares had registered a staggering 111.11% jump in value.
Bursa yesterday queried the company on whether it was aware of any possible explanation for the unusual trading activity in its shares, including any related corporate development that had not been announced, or if it was due to any rumour or report.
The company recently announced a commendable set of results for its fourth quarter ended Dec 31.
During the quarter, Privasia recorded a 183.56% rise in net profit to RM5.07mil on an 88.4% jump in revenue to RM28.4mil from RM15.08mil previously.
The company attributed the robust performance to growth in the outsourcing, and consulting and satellite-based services segments.
