能夠和標基肩並肩也不是件容易的事,Melinda沒有被丈夫的優秀所掩蓋,是因為在她自己也有理想,身上也時刻散發著優秀女性的光芒。

1995年,大女Jennifer出生。3年後,迎來了老二Rory,再3年,最小的Phoebe也來了。
同年,Bill登頂世界首富,3個孩子出生在全世界最富裕的家庭,Melinda卻希望他們少接觸奢華習氣,所以首富家的孩子也跟很多普通家庭的小孩一樣:有限的零花錢,在家要做家務,到了13歲,才能擁有第一部手機。

Melinda本來就在普通中產家庭長大,父母供姐弟4人讀大學很不容易,父親的工資不夠,就出租家裡的房間,十分拮据。但一家人從未對生活沮喪,成長於這樣的家庭,Melinda從小就對世界充滿樂觀、相信勤奮工作、創新思維,能讓生活變得更好。在孩子教育上,家庭環境中潛移默化的價值觀,是父母留給孩子最重要的東西。孩子小時候。每天都由Bill送去上學,夫婦倆因此成為學校家長爭相學習的榜樣,媽媽們紛紛回去問自家丈夫:最忙的CEO也能每天開車送孩子,你怎麼就不行?
Melinda父母和兄弟姐妹、夫妻倆經常在飯桌上和孩子交流大小事,討論怎樣看待生活、看待世界、看待自己。
MelindaBill每年會寫一封公開信,談談自己對世界問題的關注和看法,兩人每次一起出現,一起講話總是甜絲絲的,兩人一起上TEDBill也全程溫柔地看著老婆。
他們還一起決定捐出所有家產,在他們與巴菲特3人中,最後一人去世,20年內基金會必須把所有錢通通花光,然後關門大吉。2006年,巴菲特給基金會捐了1000萬股自己公司股票,市值大概有310億美金,他說:「如果沒有阿嫂,我不會捐出這筆錢。」
每年向全世界的慈善支出大概有40美元,這些錢都花在了哪裡?過去25年,全世界兒童死亡數量下降了一半,大概有1.22孩子的生命被挽救,最主要的原因就是疫苗的研發與生產。

但這些被挽救的孩子,本來並不會吸引疫苗廠商的目光,因為他們出生在世界上最貧困的地區,廠商根本無利可圖,生在富裕國家,可以一輩子更加安逸,生在貧困國家,可能一出生就要死掉,世界就是這麼殘酷。
标基的基金會用大筆的投資,改變了局面兒童基本疫苗,覆蓋率已經達到歷史最高:86%最富裕、最貧窮國家的差距也達到歷史上最小,除了疫苗,最讓她驕傲的是慈善基金會為全世界3婦女提供了自願避孕措施支援,如果父母相信,生下來的孩子能活下去,就會選擇少生一些,孩子如果媽媽能自己決定什麼時間生、生幾個孩子在成長中,就更有可能得到應有的營養和照料。
Melinda每年都要到非洲遊歷考察,在這些地區看到的往往是孩子生下不久就死,死了再生,越生越窮,越窮越生,只有走出這個怪迴圈,一個家庭,甚至一個國家才會有脫貧的希望。
做公益不能只在幕後默默花錢,上歡樂滿東華,Jennifer, Rory, Phoebe漸漸長大後,一向低調的Melinda也走到了幕前,她說:「我教育女兒,要在這個世界上發出聲音。」
他們希望用這一代人的錢,解決這一代人的問題。
大部分人的理想,最後都靠「認命」來與自己握手言和。認命就像是一個橫在少年和中年之間厚重的屏障,兩邊誰也不理解誰。世間萬千種失望,理想最終在大部分人身上踏了空。
起個頭很易,後來才是最艱難的。十年磨一劍,還是「欲上青天攬明月」的最後都「舉杯消愁愁更愁」?
很多花費十數年心血在學業,事業和家庭上的假中產,最後過的可能也只是比普通人好一點兒的生活,並非有實質性的改變,更無法企及名門。而放眼更多的普通人,要爭取這樣的生活,也是難上加難。
妳不需要對理想有執念,但還是,總讓自己在不斷變好。
妳知道或許理想最終都不會降臨在妳頭上,但還是樂觀生活。
妳在周圍人的注視下一步步走來,理想成真,也要明白自己最終是芸芸眾生。
沒有生活的生活,是不可能離理想越來越近的。酒過三巡,不論破繭成蝶,還是相忘於江湖,都不影響妳不死心再來三巡。

Coins can be traded; laying groundwork for customers now psychologically-----new site will generate Impact Currency---(the 5-10% of sales). We will sequence customers in small steps; then launch the new economy.
