This year 2018 the Investment Theme is Govt Linked GE14 Stocks like DRB, MRCB, FGV, MBSB & UEMS
This was what happened during these Theme Plays
1) Jaks gone up from 40 sen to over Rm1.00 due to Langat 2 Water Theme play
2) Crude Oil Crashed was good for logistic stocks which benefited from Cheaper petrol. That was Theme play for Airasia
3) Cheap crude oil also benefited plastic/polymer stocks like Nylex & Super Enterprize PLASTIC THEME
4) Fallen Crude Oil caused less revenue for Govt from Petronas. To mitigate loss of revenue Govt implemented GST. So IFCA & MYEG went up as GST theme play. MyEG is real but IFCA was pumped up
5) Falling Crude Oil prices impacted ringgit & it collapsed. So Cheap ringgit equals competitive exports
So 2 theme plays
a) Furniture Export theme plays like Pohuat, Lihen, Hevea & Latitude bull run time. Now over.
b) Electronic export theme stocks like VS & SKP Res & Others
As ringgit recovers in strength these theme plays also over
6) 11 MP Govt implement Massive Construction.
So construction theme stocks like Gadang, GKent & Gamuda came into play
Huge construction of infrar need long steel. So Thematic Long steel plays came into focus like Prestar, Masteel, SSteel & Annjoo

7) Sabah Election Thematic plays were CMSB, KKB, HSL, Naim & Weida (now long over)
