KIMLUN (5171) - Investing Portfolio - KimLun (3 Apr 2017)

Our investing portfolio is broken into 2 parts, one being core holdings and one being our growth holdings.

Our core holdings are typically made up of stocks that provide some stability to the entire portfolio. This is usually determined in different ways, be it size, type of business or type of sector. In the end, we look for stocks that if there are no adverse situations, provide some support in times of high volatility or weak market conditions as well as having a more stable outlook in good times.

Our growth holdings are our "power plays", these are our money makers. How successful our portfolio will be will be determined by our growth stocks. We project as far as the available data allows. The timelines vary from months to years and we get an intrinsic value which will help us decide if it is a worthwhile investment. As we take on a position, we periodically re-evaluate our holding to ensure that we ride the wave as far as possible.

That's a simple snapshot of how our investing portfolio is broken up into. There are other risk management strategies that we will share on-going.

So follow us in our investing portfolio journey. See what it takes.

KimLun is a secondary construction player which will play part of our core holding. Its a good proxy for the on-going infrastructure growth of the country which still has some way to go before Malaysia are on par with developed nations. We have been invested in them for some-time and are still positive about this company. Naturally we would like to hold one of the larger players when we have proxy plays but the larger players such as Gamuda have benefited from the construction stocks run-up last year that they do not have a lot of value attached them at the moment. KimLun are of the few players that still have a decent discount attached to their current price.

Continue to follow us to see the on-going happening of this investing portfolio challenge.
