Nexgram appoints Ottigo as payment collector for Covid-19 screening

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 12): Two sub-subsidiaries of Nexgram Holdings Bhd have entered into a deal to facilitate the collection of payment on behalf of the Ministry of Health (MoH) and other government agencies for Covid-19 screening and quarantine involving inbound and outbound travellers.

The group said 51%-owned Tri-G Technologies Sdn Bhd and 100%-owned Vaccines Lab Sdn Bhd signed the panel government system integrator contract with payment gateway firm Ottigo Sdn Bhd today.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Nexgram said Ottigo will be responsible for upgrading and maintaining the existing online payment system for the Tracvirus Covid-19 screening and quarantine, and for further integration of Tracvirus MoH accredited panel laboratories and MoH-approved hotels and quarantine centres nationwide.

Nexgram said it expects the collaboration to contribute positively to its earnings during the tenure of the contract.

On Nov 4, Nexgram had inked a letter of acceptance with the National Security Council to provide the Tracvirus electronic health check system for inbound travellers on behalf of MoH.

The Tracvirus Open Platform was launched in Malaysia and Indonesia in July 2020, followed by the launch of the Tracvirus SafeTravelPass, an electronic certificate for inbound travellers, packaged together with the Malaysia Tourism Council (MTC).

Tracvirus has listed MoH-approved quarantine hotels and centres as the one-stop solution provider to MTC members.

The system was developed by Nexgram sub-subsidiary Medic Data Science Pte Ltd, and distributed by another sub-subsidiary, TRI-G.

It is an electronic health pass system for travellers, aimed at facilitating entry into Malaysia amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

It is designed and operated by Nexgram for use by government departments including MoH, and is accessible at tracvirus.com

It serves as an online portal for inbound travellers to register and pay for mandatory Covid19 swab tests prior to arrival, thus making the process of entering Malaysia more efficient and convenient.

The system is integrated to foreign countries and act as reciprocal Covid-19 tests for outbound travellers.

Nexgram has secured connectivity in foreign countries and it will be used in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and most European countries.

Also, it is integrating with international and local hotel and lodging groups to serve as quarantine centres for the ease of travellers, targeted to launch before the end of the year.

Nexgram’s share price closed up half a sen or 11.11% at five sen today, giving it a market capitalisation of RM133.06 million. Some 29.98 million shares were traded.
