External auditor of DGB Asia, SMTrack, Inix resigns on same day

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 18): Jamal, Amin & Partners (JAP) has resigned as the external auditor of DGB Asia Bhd with effect from last Wednesday (Dec 16), due to “their manpower issues”, according to the company’s filing to Bursa Malaysia.

It is worth noting that JAP also resigned as auditor of both Inix Technologies Holdings Bhd, which has stepped into the limelight after it announced its venture into rubber glove manufacturing business, and SMTrack Bhd on the same day.

SMTrack said the resignation of the auditor is on a “voluntary basis”, while there was no specific reason given from Inix’s filing.

The boards of all three companies are “not aware of any matters that need to be brought to the attention” of the companies' shareholders, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia two days ago.

Further announcements will be made in due course once the new auditors are finalised by the companies.

DGB Asia said JAP was re-appointed as the auditor of the company at the 13th annual general meeting (AGM) held on June 30, 2020 to hold office until the conclusion of the next AGM of the company.

Shares of DGB Asia closed two sen or 8.16% lower at 22.5 sen today, valuing it at RM36.05 million.

Share prices of both SMTrack and Inix have had roller coaster rides this year. Year to date, SMTrack has gained 76.2% to 18.5 sen, while Inix has soared 550% to 32.5 sen.
