NCT partners five parties for Selangor Smart Industrial Park
KUALA LUMPUR (July 20): NCT Group of Companies has entered into partnerships with five parties for its upcoming Selangor Smart Industrial Park (SSIP) through the signing of memorandums of understanding (MOUs) on Wednesday. The parties are Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU), Furniweb Holdings Ltd, KS Industrial Tools Sdn Bhd, Solarvest Holdings Bhd and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR).
In a press statement on Wednesday, NCT Group founder and managing director Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy noted that the partnerships forged are testament to the developer's commitment to providing the best facilities at SSIP to boost efficiency and maintaining a sustainable and resilient eco-friendly ecosystem.
NCT Group and Solarvest aim to develop 1,000 units of solar-ready factories and warehouses at SSIP to achieve shared decarbonisation goals. Their MOU also comprises the provision of decarbonisation services across NCT's facilities in Malaysia, as well as exploring the prospects in the areas of renewable energy such as solar and bioenergy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency and electric mobility.
Solarvest executive director and group chief executive officer Davis Chong Chun Shiong said: "We are pleased to embark on this partnership with NCT Group as we both share the common goal of creating a world with accessible clean energy. This SSIP development is set to reduce the industrial and commercial carbon footprints quite significantly."
Meanwhile, the partnership with Furniweb will provide energy efficiency services in the design of building automation systems in SSIP. Furniweb director Cheah Hannon said: "We look forward to working together with NCT Group and leveraging on our technical expertise to create an efficient and cost-effective facility for SSIP."
The partnerships with APU and UTAR are set to expand NCT Group's 4.0 Industrial Revolution (4IR) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training initiatives, shaping the local workforce in tandem with the changing workplace landscape through the utilisation of smart technology and enhanced efficiency to enable greater productivity while contributing to higher income levels.
"We truly value the partnership with NCT Group as it provides our students with a strong platform to step into the working environment and accelerate their learning process," said UTAR president Ewe Hong Tat.
APU chief operating officer Gurpardeep Singh added: "We are excited to be part of this journey with NCT Group to nurture young Malaysians to be prepared for the 4IR applications in real life."
With KS Industrial, NCT Group wants to carry out installation of its DéScale technology, which rectifies solutions for scale build-up, corrosion and cools tower water sanitisation to prevent the growth of algae, bacteria and viruses in cooling water.
KS Industrial's managing director Wong Pow Siong said: "Our vast experience and highly specialised skill set in high-tech water systems is able to replace chemical treatments and contribute to NCT Group's vision of an ESG (environmental, social and governance)-focused, energy-efficient and future-ready industrial park."
