Trading ideas: F&N, Tanjung Offshore, Quill

KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Fraser & Neave Holdings, Tanjung Offshore, Quill Capita Trust and MRCB to be among the stocks which could see trading interest on Friday.
It said F&N bought a 21.3-acre site for RM26mil in Kota Kinabalu to build a new beverage plant costing RM85mil due to growing demand in Sabah and Sarawak.
As for Tanjung Offshore, the group has filed a defamation suit against its suspended director Tan Sri Tan Kean Soon and six others seeking damages of RM100mil.
Quill Capita Trust and MRCB could see trading interest after the former has obtained unit holders' consent to acquire the Platinum Sentral from the latter for RM740mil.
Overnight on Wall Street, US stocks closed higher as concerns of an earlier interest rate hike eased and the US dollar declined. European markets closed mixed due to fear of deflation and uncertainty of impact from the recently launched quantitative easing.
“On the local front, the FBM KLCI gained 8.71 points to 1786.87 points to stage a rebound. We expect the KLCI to be positive today, taking lead from the US, but remain below its resistance of 1,800 points,” JF Apex Research said.
