KUALA LUMPUR: NWP Holdings Bhd shares jumped in active trade on Tuesday, triggering a query from Bursa Malaysia Securities over the unusual market activity (UMA).
At 12.10pm, shares of the timber products company was up 5.5 sen to 26.5 sen, the highest in recent years. There were 22.4 million shares done
The FBM KLCI fell 7.71 points or 0.45% to 1,709.97. Turnover was 824.60 million shares valued at RM698.13mil. There were 243 gainers, 352 losers and 375 counters unchanged.
Bursa Securities had issued the query on the recent surge in price and volume of the company's shares.
It also advised investors to take note of the company's reply to the query when making their investment decisions.
