For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2015, AZRB’s earnings rose 69% to RM22.9 million compared to RM13.5 million a year earlier, driven by its construction division.
Its orderbook was at RM3.47 billion as at September last year, boosted by the East Klang Valley Expressway worth RM1.55 billion and a construction work, worth RM673 million, involves the construction of a 50-storey hotel tower in one of the most sought after locations in Kuala Lumpur city centre last year.
The award of the RM1.44 billion MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) line project from Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) boost Ahmad Zaki Resources Bhd’s (AZRB) orderbook to almost RM5 billion.
AZRB which also owns plantation interests in Kali- mantan, is expected to start work on the old Malaysian Airline System Bhd building in Jalan Sultan Ismail this year.
