We closed a total of 7 trades on Wed (12th April) and Mon (17th April) . As we talked about in the results report, the market is weakening after its strong run. There has been some rebound today - but nothing much to shout about from a broader market perspective.

In that view, we focused a lot of our energy cutting those that have has lost their momentum due to the recent sell-off as to limit our downside as we continue our focus our efforts on those we still see strength.

Here are the 7 trades we made :-

Priva hit our second target price and we exited with a good 16.27% return. It made a final push before joining the rest of the small caps in retracing last week. We booked our returns before the market turned and this emphasizes the importance of following through with your target prices.

We cut our holdings in Acostec, DBhb, Efficien, YtlPwr, TekSeng and FBGroup. Most of our holdings lost momentum and we picked out these are those that no longer fit our technical criteria. We took a accumulative loss of about RM1811.49 on these 6 holdings but netting out our profit of Priva - absorb a total loss of RM1239.62.

We are never happy about losing but if you are a trader, this is part and parcel of trading. You will lose and its all about limiting losses when things don't go as planned. We are not overly concerned at the moment as our portfolio is still in nett profit after we began publishing our returns and at the current rate, we are still projected to hit our target returns.

The important message we would like to pass is that most people think its about spending more time on your winners - actually in trading, managing our losses is the key that has made us consistently successful. Winning has always been the easier part of trading.

Hopefully you get a good glimpse of this in as you follow our on-going portfolio challenge.
