Dear alumnus,

You joined me in the Deep Value Investing workshop at Putra Business School in the final quarter of 2015.

Prior to demonstrating how deep value investing could work, we went through important approaches of value investing (i.e. multiple-based valuations, the Buffett's way, etc).

It was eye-opening to some of you and, most astonishingly, shocking to nearly all of you that MBA helps little in your investing career.

I entirely understand that.

The concept of value investing, which is simply about profiting from the gap between business values and stock prices, is against your 2-year effort to master the efficient market theory, modern portfolio theory, and alike.

Value investing is simple, but it is not easy. I got to make a big deal of something that is really natural and intuitive.

To follow-up, in this letter, we will do a quick review to look at how stocks that discussed have performed since our workshop.

Fibon Bhd

Complete Logistic Services Bhd

Favelle Favco Bhd

Hil Industries Bhd

Equally importantly, we also discussed how to avoid permanent capital loss.

One expensive stock, which has a significantly weak fundamental, that we looked at was Handal.

Handal Resources Bhd

I have moved to valueveins.blogspot.my since early 2017 .

Because I am starting up a close-end partnership, the blog is used to demonstrate how value investing approaches will be used by the managing partner.

Thus far, I have shared my investing process of four companies. If you would like to know their performance, please visit https://goo.gl/forms/mZ8SyL4sbaAqntPz2.

I hope you understand and practice value investing, and appreciate its power in enriching you.
