AIA Malaysia ties up with DOC2US to provide virtual health services and wellness programmes

KUALA LUMPUR (April 19): Electronic prescription (e-prescription) telemedicine provider DOC2US has inked a strategic collaboration with AIA Malaysia to provide virtual health services and wellness programmes to the insurer’s individual and corporate customers.

In a statement today, DOC2US said it had successfully completed full integration with AIA Malaysia’s super app, My AIA, to allow users to gain easy access to virtual health services with just a few taps away.

It said via a simple and easy interface in the My AIA app, users can virtually consult preferred healthcare professionals through text messaging or video calls without the hassle of seeing a doctor physically.

It explained that once patients receive the e-prescription from doctors at DOC2US, partner pharmacies will then fill the prescription.

For patients who opt for doorstep delivery of their medication, their barcoded medication shipments will be delivered by riders trained in safe medication delivery.

DOC2US chief technology officer Tan Aik Keong said AIA customers will now be able to use DOC2US’ digital health services directly via the My AIA app without the need to instal another app.

“With this successful roll-out, we see huge opportunities in enabling any app to be equipped with telemedicine service,” said Tan.

AIA Health Services chief officer Tung Hsiao Ley said the partnership marks an important milestone in its foray into digital health services as the firm enhances and expands its Total Health Solution ecosystem.

The technology used in DOC2US was developed by a team of local engineers led by Tan, while the team had begun integration testing and running trials as early as January 2020.

On top of the in-app integration with My AIA, DOC2US is the only virtual health advisory platform integrated with the MySejahtera app.

DOC2US has also integrated its telemedicine platform into the MiCare MyMed app to enable clients and employees to consult doctors online and get medication delivered to their doorstep seamlessly.

DOC2US has also collaborated with private laboratory network Gribbles Pathology to provide a smooth experience to patients and consumers when it comes to lab e-requests and real-time reviews with doctors online.

It has also partnered with Alpro Pharmacy, Malaysia’s largest prescription pharmacy chain, in processing and dispensing e-prescription, while with leading domestic and international express delivery service provider GDEX in providing last-mile medication delivery to patients.

DOC2US chief executive officer (CEO) Dr Raymond Choy said these collaborations will not only improve patients’ experiences and engagement in healthcare, but also scale up the health landscape through high-quality digital solutions and technology.
