KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): Based on corporate announcements and news flow on Thursday, companies in focus on Friday (Dec 31) may include Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd, Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd, Pharmaniaga Bhd, MISC Bhd, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd, TDM Bhd, Cypark Resources Bhd, Tuju Setia Bhd, Inta Bina Group Bhd, WZ Satu Bhd, SMTrack Bhd, Poh Huat Resources Holdings Bhd and Sarawak Cable Bhd.

Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has upsized its Islamic bond or sukuk issuance to RM800 million from the initial target issue size of RM500 million under the group's RM5 billion sukuk wakalah programme on robust demand for the firm's securities. MAHB said it issued the RM800 million bonds on Thursday in three tranches comprising RM475 million, RM225 million and RM100 million portions respectively.

Serba Dinamik Holdings Bhd said the company and its officers have obtained legal advice and will be defending the charges against them vigorously. In its reply to a Bursa Malaysia query, the company said it will make further announcements as and when there are material developments on the matter. On Dec 28 and Dec 29 respectively, the Securities Commission Malaysia charged the company and its executive director Datuk Syed Nazim Syed Faisal, group chief financial officer Azhan Azmi, accounts and finance vice-president Muhammad Hafiz Othman and group managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah under Section 369(a)(B) of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007.

Pharmaniaga Bhd's services for the provision of medicines and medical supplies to the Ministry of Health's facilities has been extended for another year until Dec 31, 2022. The group said the extension was granted to its wholly-owned subsidiary Pharmaniaga Logistics Sdn Bhd, pending the finalisation of a new logistics and distribution concession agreement.

Datuk Tengku Marina Tunku Annuar, a member of the Kedah royal family, has been appointed as an independent and non-executive director of MISC Bhd, the shipping arm of Petroliam Nasional Bhd or Petronas. MISC said the appointment will take effect on Jan 1, 2022.

Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Bhd has appointed Takaful Ikhlas Family Bhd president and CEO Nor Azman Zainal as its new group CEO, effective Jan 1, 2022. The group said, Nor Azman will be replacing Datuk Seri Mohamed Hassan Md Kamil who is retiring.

The Indonesian government has filed a RM293.67 million lawsuit against TDM Bhd's oil palm unit PT Rafi Kamajaya Abadi for allegedly acting illegally in relation to a fire incident at the subsidiary's land in West Kalimantan province in 2019. The republic's Ministry of Environment and Forestry is claiming damages for the loss of ecology, loss of economy and compensation costs for the environment impact verification. The claim also includes a compensation of RM214.29 million to make good an area of 2,560ha affected by the fire.

Environmental solutions and renewable energy group Cypark Resources Bhd posted a net profit of RM25.72 million for its fourth quarter of financial year 2021 (4QFY21) ended Oct 31, 2021, up 20% from RM21.43 million in the same period last year, mainly due to savings achieved in finance costs and tax expenses. The group's revenue for the quarter also improved by 6.4% to RM86.95 million from RM81.69 million amid continuous work progress from its large-scale solar projects and specialist and consultancy work performed. Cypark closed its FY21 with a 6.7% increase in annual net profit to RM75.42 million from RM70.69 million in FY20, mainly on lower tax provision recognised, while revenue rose 3.7% to RM315.32 million from RM304 million.

Construction services company Tuju Setia Bhd has secured a RM311.7 million contract to undertake main contractor work for Sunway d'hill Residences high-rise development in Kota Damansara, Selangor. The group, via its wholly-owned Pembinaan Tuju Setia Sdn Bhd, has accepted the letters of award from Sunway PKNS Sdn Bhd to build two blocks of 38-storey serviced apartments for the project.

Inta Bina Group Bhd said its unit Inta Bina Sdn Bhd has bagged a contract worth RM79.8 million from Eco Majestic Sdn Bhd to build 149 double-storey houses of various sizes for a gated and controlled community housing scheme (strata property) in Precinct 6 in Beranang, Hulu Langat, Selangor. The project, which will include the construction of two power substations, will start on Jan 5 and be completed in 20 months.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has raised his stake in WZ Satu Bhd to 9.8%. This was after the King converted 53.62 million Islamic convertible preference shares in the civil engineering and mining group into ordinary shares. As a result, his shareholding was raised to 100.02 million shares, from 46.21 million shares as of April 30.

Tycoon Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew has emerged as a substantial shareholder of SMTrack Bhd, following his acquisition of 28.5 million shares, equivalent to a 5.051% equity stake, in the company. The Country Heights Holdings Bhd executive chairman acquired the radio frequency identification company's shares on Dec 29 from the open market.

Poh Huat Resources Holdings Bhd sank into the red for its fourth quarter ended Oct 31, 2021 with a net loss of RM3.54 million, compared with a net profit of RM25.62 million a year ago. Revenue plunged 75.52% to RM53.05 million from RM216.72 million in the same quarter last year. The furniture maker said the prolonged shutdown of both its Malaysia and Vietnam operations resulted in a drastic drop in production and shipment. Despite the earnings contraction, Poh Huat proposed a final dividend of two sen per share, bringing the total dividend payout for the financial year to five sen. For the full financial year, its net profit declined 37.93% to RM32.22 million, from RM51.91 million in the previous year. Full-year revenue fell 15.89% to RM554.74 million from RM659.5 million.

Sarawak Cable Bhd has triggered the suspended criteria of Practice Note 17 (PN17), but will not be classified as a PN17 company, thanks to Bursa Malaysia's relief measures. The cable manufacturer said it triggered the PN17 criteria as its shareholders' equity on a consolidated basis was 50% or less of its share capital, based on its financial results for the quarter ended Nov 30, 2021 announced on Thursday (Dec 30).
