KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of Baba Eco Group Bhd were higher during the gardening solutions provider’s debut on Bursa Malaysia LEAP Market today.

At 12 noon, its shares rose three sen to 16, from an initial offering of 13 sen per share, with 130,500 shares traded.

Baba Eco remained at 16 sen at the end of its first day on the local bourse.

The company reportedly expects to expand overseas with a physical presence in neighbouring Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia and Vietnam.

Its existing overseas markets include Australia, Japan, New Zealand and Saudi Arabia.

Babe Eco provides gardening supplies under the Baba brand name, and manufactures and trades in biodegradable flower pots, planting media and other plastic-injection moulding products.

It soon intends to develop and introduce a new series of organic fertilisers and natural pesticides under the name ‘Eco-Merchandise’.
