[JAKS RESOURCES BHD: to focus on completion of its projects, and with the expected completion of the Vietnam Power Plant this year which is expected to contribute stable recurring income, the Group will strive to prevail through the storm]
The Group achieved revenue of RM75.2m for this quarter ended 31 March 20, compared to last year RM297.8m and a LBT of RM16.8m in this quarter as compared to PBT of RM22.8m in last year. Investment Holding & others division recorded lower LBT of RM4.6m in this quarter as compared to LBT of RM21.1m in last year due to the absence of RM19.7m charged out in respect of the award of 38,709,760 shares under the LTIP - Restricted Share Plan to selected employees or executives of the company.
QoQ:
The Group recorded a LBT of RM16.8m in this quarter compared to LBT of RM11.9m in the preceding quarter.
Prospects:
As they are now in the RMCO phase, they hope to regain lost ground and to make up for valuable time lost. Their project sites have since resumed work although it will take some lead time for operations to regain momentum to return to full normalcy. The incentives in the Government's Economic Recovery Stimulus Package will help stimulate the economic recovery and mitigate the impact of the pandemic.
The Group will continue to focus on completion of its projects, and with the expected completion of the Vietnam Power Plant this year which is expected to contribute stable recurring income, the Group will strive to prevail through the storm. The group is exploring various fund raising exercises like capital raising from the equities market to raise funds for the needs and to strengthen its financial position. Cost control measures are and will continue to be implemented. The Board will exercise due care and prudence.
