KPower consortium accepts RM70mil hydropower job in Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR: KPower Bhd's subsidiary KPower Engineering Sdn Bhd and its consortium partner Tellhow International Engineering & Contracting Co Ltd has accepted a letter of award from One River Power Sdn Bhd to take over the construction works of small hydropower plants in Sabah valued at RM70mil

The group said in a bourse filing that the plants with a total capacity of 29.1MW are located at Sg. Bengkoka upper, Sg. Bengkoka lower and Sg. Togohu in Kota Marudu.

The scope of the works includes the completion of the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the project and includes carrying out testing, commissioning and provision of all equipment, both permanent works and temporary works in connection with the project.

"The award is expected to contribute positively to the net assets, consolidated earnings, and earnings per share of the Company for the financial year ending 30 June 2022 to 30 June 2023," said KPower.
