The EDCC houses the service centres for its heavy equipment, industrial equipment, and industrial power businesses with 150 employees.

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Group's Equipment Division has opened its new integrated customer centre - Equipment Division Customer Centre (EDCC) in Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam, to better serve its customers.

The EDCC houses the service centres for its heavy equipment, industrial equipment, and industrial power businesses with 150 employees.

It sits on 0.5 hectares of land, with 25,000 square feet of shop floor and another 10,000 square feet of office space.

UMW Equipment Division president Megat Shahrul Azmir said that in line with the company's CREST@2021 aspirations, its growth strategy is focused on exploring ways to help customers address emerging economic and sustainability concerns, as well as to adopt and adapt the latest technological advancements to be more competitive.

"We continue to work closely with our principals and partners to deliver innovative products and solutions to our customers, including more automated and environment-friendly options.

"The opening of EDCC marks an important milestone for us as we strive to deliver our unwavering commitment to our customers," he added.

The UMW Equipment Division distributes equipment products from renowned brands, including Komatsu Ltd, Bomag, Rosenbauer International, Tennant Company, and Toyota material handling equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks and others.

It also distributes related industrial equipment, tyres and batteries.

The company is intensifying efforts to add value to the logistics and warehouse business through process automation with the support of Toyota Material Handling International.

In addition, its industrial power unit provides solutions for industrial and customised power and marine equipment.
